Aussie Masterchef.
Back last night for a new series, can't watch the UK one as Gregg Wallace annoys me, but don't like missing an episode of this.

Clashes with the Great British Menu though which is also cracking viewing.

I'm hungry now!

I would make 20 bread rolls and serve up the blandest thing on the menu

With 15 plates of chips.

Ah! Annette Howard from Cardiff.

My daughter is a fan, too. She remembered her name and town. Annette made quite an impression on us.

The one from Stoke-on-Trent was my favourite - she turned up late to all of the other meals and couldn't stress enough how much she was into 'fine dining'.

My favourite contestant was the poisonous old bat who believed in crystal healing. Can't remember her name.

I would make Marseilles chicken and then do something extremely skillfull, like serving a banana up, in the middle of an ice jubbly. (melt the jubbly, then refreeze it around the banana)

They wouldn't know what had hit them.

I once saw a contestant on the UK CDwM buying a LIVE crab, and he asked the fishmonger "How fresh is it?"

Don't get arsed. What I'm saying is now days everyone is an expert at everything due to Google youtube etc.

no Australians always have to try harder whether it be cooking or sport. I work with one at the moment and they are over competitive. They could make a competition out of washing up and drying dishes.

NR - The best thing about come dine with me is the sarcastic presenter, cracks me up sometimes.

If you think that is a valid comparison probably not worth discussing it with you. These people's livelihoods are tasting food, some are really good at it.

Re: Aussie Masterchef.
The Aussie version of Come Dine with Me made me think that either Aussies are MUCH better cooks than us, or the programme makers misunderstood the point of the show and assumed it's about cooking, rather than enjoying watching pretentious numpties make arses of themselves.

Alvin Leung?

Yeah he bugs me a lot more than Gregg Wallace.

I find it interesting they feel the need to change formats slightly (or dramatic) based on countries. The worst one for that was Iron Chef UK.

Think the Aussie ones way ahead so the others don't really compare.

Is the Canadian one the one with the Chinese/Thai fella?
